
In Aurora and Denver, the Colorado Attorney General’s Office is looking into possible violations of the state’s safe-housing and consumer-protection laws, which the owners of various deteriorating apartment buildings have recently experienced.
According to documents obtained by The Denver Post, the express office subpoenaed CBZ Management, one of its principal members, and several of its superior businesses in September. The summons seek solutions and records regarding a wide range of CBZ’s practices, including how to advertise its properties and ensure that tenants receive the apartments they have toured, how to handle repair requests and wellness code violations, how to handle security deposits and how to screen tenants, among other things.
The Aurora buildings owned by CBZ Management have received numerous tenant and provincial complaints, and there has just been global attention given alleged gang abuse.
