Owing to consumer demand, production advances, and rate stability, the pre-roll market is poised for continued progress in 2024. How does brands compete head-on and win in this product category that is extremely competitive?

Some key strategies can help a pre-roll company’s growth, including taking advantage of new technologies, carefully analyzing customer behavior, and incorporating impressive packaging and design. In the new year, here are some strategies for manufacturers to advance.

Highly Customized

The best pre-roll companies need to have both style and material. Fortunately, when it comes to physical attractiveness, there have never been more choices, including a wide array of colors, flavors, report, strength, and styles.

One thing to remember about your clients is understanding what makes them tick. Do they want a beautiful experience with appealing visuals? Or perhaps they are more involved with the company’s negative impact on the environment. The most successful pre-roll brands are those that are aware of their customers ‘ needs and have an understanding of their needs.

Digitally Advanced

Another way to maintain your pre-roll gets noticed is to utilize advanced technology. Over the past few years, breakthroughs in pre-roll technology have enabled manufacturers to size fast, provide constant products, add post-packaging labels, and more.

Visual cues, such as a filigree ( a watermark impression ) added to the pre-roll paper, give brands another opportunity to stand out and avoid counterfeiters. Gumming technologies also adds a layer of complexity that allows businesses to create designs using food-grade paint designs that may protect against fraud.

This enables brands to increase their patterns, designs, and logos to the pre-roll, resulting in a distinctive style that deters counterfeiters and establishes brand recognition even after the pre-roll has been taken from its exterior packaging.

Better Paper

The paper used to create pre-rolls is almost as crucial as the paper inside. First, it must be safe to smoke, consistent, and compliant. And typically, many cannabis connoisseurs find that the thinner the paper, the better the taste.

Some businesses offer pre-rolls made from various botanicals, such as hemp flower and tea, because customers also want paper that enhances the smoking experience. For an even more potent experience, there are pre-rolls with added concentrates like hash, kief, wax, or shatter.

More Sustainable

Consumers are becoming more and more concerned about the effects of their purchasing decisions on the environment. That’s driving greater interest in pre-rolls with biodegradable and recyclable packaging, paper that is free of chemical additives, and manufacturing processes using fewer natural resources.

New Formats

Pre-rolls now come in various sizes and packages. Mini pre-rolls, also called Dogwalkers, are pre-rolls with under.35 grams compared to a typical pre-roll that is around 1 gram.

They have gained in popularity over the past few years in part because people do n’t want to share joints with others. As brands think about expanding their product lines, they may want to consider different-sized pre-rolls, pre-roll packs, better child-proof packaging, and other format enhancements that serve their target customers.

There has never been a better time for brands to level up their pre-roll offerings and capture a larger share of the market thanks to product innovations and improved manufacturing technologies.
