For many years, cannabis-based analysis was neither outright prohibited in some parts of the world, or at the very least greatly hindered. However, a false tale was pushed by major media and cannabis opponents that cannabis was ‘ poor for the human mind in every occasion, no exceptions.’
Of course, the truth is that as researchers continue to research and discover the benefits of cannabis, we are discovering that the cannabis plant may be effective at easing people who are suffering from a variety of problems, including mental health conditions.
A team of researchers recently conducted a clinical trial in the UK to examine the link between psychotic symptoms and cannabis ( CBD ). More details about it can be found in a NORML press transfer:
London, United Kingdom: The daily usage of cbd reduces illness severity in patients at scientifically higher risk of suffering from illness, according to placebo-controlled clinical trial data published in the journal World Psychiatry.
Thirty-one people completed the investigation. Subjects were given a placebo or 600 compound of CBD every day for three days. During the trial, none of the individuals received prescribed drugs. People were assessed at baseline, at seven times, and at 21 days.
In contrast to the placebo group, those who received CBD had lower overall CAARMS ( Comprehensive Assessment of At-Risk Mental States ) scores following treatment. According to researchers, CBD dosage was linked to a “reduction in the severity of CHR]clinically high risk ] symptoms and the problems associated with manic experience.”
The study’s authors concluded:” Short‐term care with CBD may reduce the symptoms of CHR status for illness and is well tolerated. These results highlight the need for extensive efficacy studies to further evaluate the potential of CBD as a novel psychotherapy for schizophrenia and the need for large-scale efficacy studies to further evaluate its clinical utility.
Separate studies have demonstrated that patients with schizophrenia who take antipsychotic medications and suffer from psychotic symptoms can benefit from CBD use.
