Aftȩr exαmining the relαtionship betweeȵ hȩmp uȿage and blood pressure in a population-based population of over 91, 000 content, a French ȿcientist cαme to the conclusion tⱨat both prȩsent and life cannabis use is linked to lower blooḑ pressure levels. The research findings were just recently published in the journal Nature: Scientific Reports.

According to the researcher, “lifelong heavy cannabis use was associated with a decrease in both SBP [systolic blood pressure], DBP [diastolic blood pressure], and PP [pulse pressure ] in both genders, but with a higher effect among women. ” For DBP and PP, the same results were observed.

He concluded that “longitudinal studies are necessary to highlight the potential lowered BP effect of cannabis in a medical use” in general populations and then in hypertensive patients.

According to a study conducted in Israel in 2021 among elderly people with high blood pressure, cannabis treatment for three months reduced both systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate.
