The cannabis plant contains dozens of cannabinoids, with tetrahydrocannabinol ( THC ) being arguably the most well-known cannabinoid. Another cannabinoid, cannabidiol ( CBD), has grown in popularity in recent years due to its wellness properties.
CBD is being properly used to treat a variety of ailments, from rheumatism to epilepsy, all over the world. Hemp, which is lawful in more areas than non-hemp aspects of cannabis, is used in a large number of medical cannabis products that contain CBD.
A team of researchers in Brazil just just conducted a study involving children and adults who received CBD treatments. The Argentine study’s findings are presented below in a NORML press release:
Brasilia, Brazil: The administration of CBD-rich cannabis extracts is safe and effective in children with autism spectrum disorder ( ASD ), according to data from an observational study published in the journal Pharmaceuticals.
Brazilian investigators assessed the use of CBD-dominant extracts ( CBD to THC ratio: 33 to 1 ) in a cohort of 30 children ( mean age: 11 years ) with moderate to severe ASD. For six months, members consumed cannabis components. Content ‘ clinical outcomes were analyzed by their designated medical professionals. Semi-structured discussions with the members ‘ parents and carers were also conducted at the conclusion of the treatment time.
Most subjects ( 70 % ) demonstrated clinical improvements following CBD therapy, especially in terms of attention and communication skills, in accordance with previous studies. During the investigation, 74 percent of subjects either reduced or stopped using at least one prescribed drugs.

The study’s authors came to the conclusion that “in the existing study, we demonstrate that the benefits of therapy with full-spectrum CBD fuel for non-syndromic ASD are perceived and experienced by the families and caretakers as well as by the scientific eye.” In summary, the findings support the use of this treatment in combination with a steady and specialized dosage regimen for a more comprehensive treatment of key and comorbid ASD, as well as improving social interaction, communication, and quality of life.
The study’s conclusions are in line with those of placebo-controlled test data that showed changes in ASD patients ‘ symptoms following the use of marijuana products. Additionally, empirical studies have demonstrated that hemp use can be beneficial for adults with autism.
