Earlier this year, in August 2024, Ukraine’s health cannabis program formally launched. The first time since December 2023, the Ukrainian Parliament has approved the physician cannabis transformation, was signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky on February 15, 2024.
Cannabis polymer, extracts, and medicines are excluded from the list of ‘ hazardous ingredients’ in Ukraine under the new plan. The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the State Medical Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, and various professional bodies, had created by-laws that thoroughly govern all procedures and will permit the individual to receive treatments from skilled cannabis. Officials in Ukraine just approved the list of eligible conditions for suffering people to define under, as previously reported by Marijuana Moment.
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine released a list of about 20 conditions that qualify for medical cannabis, with the exception of potential additions as needed. Marijuana Moment reported.
” Those conditions include multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, shingles, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, complications from chemotherapy, Parkinson’s disease, childhood epilepsy and weight loss associated with eating disorders. Additionally, the ministry pointed out that a medical advisory committee might decide additional conditions in the future. the media outlet also reported.
Ukrainian medical cannabis cultivation facilities are required to be operated in’ closed soil conditions’ with’ round-the-clock video surveillance.’ Additionally, national police must have’ free access’ to all facilities under the new regulations.
There is a process for purchasing plant seeds for cultivation, which requires that they be accompanied by a quality certificate and be listed in the Ukrainian State Register of plant varieties. the Ministry of Health stated in a news release that it was released in August 2024.
” Medicines from medical cannabis will be produced in a pharmacy setting and prescribed by prescription to patients for whom conventional medicines do not have a therapeutic effect or result in adverse reactions that are poorly tolerated.” according to the Ministry of Health. ” These medications can only be purchased in Ukraine with an electronic prescription that specifies the dosage form and dosage, as well as the names of the active ingredients whose names are included in their composition. Patients will be able to purchase medical marijuana products in the form of oral drops, hard capsules, and dental pastes, according to the company’s expectations.
The law permits visitors to Ukraine or visitors passing through its territory to bring medical marijuana based products for personal use in amounts not more than what a doctor’s prescription requires. the Health Ministry also stated.
